Ammazzare delle pecore e lasciarle per terra con le pance squarciate era stato un gesto plateale e borioso per dirgli, se non l’avesse ancora capito, che l’ultima parola spettava a loro; e che non c’era Cooperativa o Partito Socialista che potessero spaventarli. Se si era illuso che, per il solo fatto di avere tolto loro il municipio e le terre, fosse diventato qualcuno, si sbagliava di grosso. Per loro era meno di zero.
